My Journey

This started as a habit.

Of going back to the same places. The same trails, the same stretches of road, the same landscapes that don’t feel the same twice.

Over the last 20 years, I’ve spent a lot of time exploring the outdoors across North America—sometimes on long road trips, sometimes on foot, sometimes just staying in one place long enough to begin noticing it properly.

This blog is a way of documenting that. Not as a guide, but as a record of what it feels like to be out there.

I’m Aditya Kumar.

I grew up in India, and over the years have travelled extensively across Africa, Asia, and back home as well—mostly drawn to the outdoors and wildlife. Those experiences shape how I see places.

Not just as destinations, but as living systems, with their own rhythms, pressures, and stories.

Alongside this, my professional work has been in the social sector, working across different countries and contexts. That part of my life has stayed separate in some ways, but it also changes how I travel—how I pay attention, and what I choose to write about.

This site is mostly a blog.

You’ll find:

  • Trails I’ve walked (and sometimes walked again)

  • Wildlife encounters that stayed with me

  • Road trips that were more about the journey than the route

  • A few places I keep returning to, without really knowing why

We also share parts of these journeys on YouTube and Instagram—sometimes visuals say what words can’t.

If you like the outdoors not just for the views, but for the time you spend in it—you’ll probably find something here that resonates.
